If the “Simple Fix” isn’t working for you anymore, this post is for you.

When it comes to managing acid reflux, you want the answer to be simple…

  • “Take this pill and the acid reflux will stop”
  • “Stop eating this food and the acid reflux will simmer”
  • “Cut out wine night w/ the girls and you should see a difference”

As humans, we CRAVE simple and safe solutions. More specifically, solutions that have a foreseeable outcome (i.e., popping a Tums or Prilosec and knowing the reflux will stop).

Although this solution feels simple, safe, AND predictable…. it’s either not working anymore OR you’re stuck in a cycle that looks a little like this:

Reflux ♻ Tums ♻ Reflux ♻ Tums *worry about reflux* Reflux ♻ Tums 

Sound familiar? If so, I challenge you to try something different to get a predictable solution that is a little more reliable. In fact, I’d go as far as saying – a solution that is permanent. 

The Permanent Solution…

…Addressing the root cause of the reflux in the first place! Here is a zoomed-out view of what this process would look like: 

  • Calm the gut & stomach environment utilizing things like aloe vera juice, licorice root, and coconut water. 
  • Build a sound nutrition foundation including nutrient-rich foods, balanced meals, and variety. 
  • Gradually start supporting healthy stomach acid production (hint: minerals like sodium are a biggie here).
  • Pinpoint & address the root cause of the reflux with the right testing (sluggish thyroid, stress, mineral deficiencies, low stomach acid, H Pylori, histamine intolerance, hiatal hernia to name a few).

When you begin addressing the true root cause, those consistent wins really add up to the stubborn symptom transformation you’ve been rooting for. Here’s to a true reflux-free summer!
